Hi, everyone!
My birthday is coming up next month and I am thinking about having a 1950s themed party with my friends. My family thought that would be a good idea. We have sort of a 50s themed kitchen and we could eat burgers and fries and root beer floats. You know, a 50s diner.

Then I was thinking about watching a 50s movie. There are a lot to choose from. Greese in a great example of the 50s, but that movie isn't really appropriate. Don't worry, I haven't actually seen it. Back to the Future is an awesome movie where this guy goes back to the 50s, but there is some stuff in it that might not be okay with everyone. My parents fast forward the really bad parts, but you can't always catch them.
So, I'm am asking everyone here if you have some 1950s movie suggestions that would be okay for 13 and 14 year old girls to watch. Please comment if you have an idea!

Great idea I think the new Nancy Drew would be good!
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was filmed in 1954. It is my all-time favorite movie! A few others are Singin in the Rain (1952), and The Harvey Girls, which is actually from 1940's but it is still a great movie. Oh, I always forget to tell people- there is a part in Singin in the Rain that we fast-forward through- not that it's even bad, but the girl is just acting quite flirty and immodest.
I hope that helps!
Gidget?
Vintage Nancy Drew?
Drive-in monster movie?
Here's a link with a list of family movies that came out in the 1950s:

How about The Shaggy Dog?
The Parent Trap is 1961--that's pretty close.
