Do you have a project to share for a Terrific Thrifty Thursday? Then you can submit it to: {mypassionsforfashions (at) yahoo (dot) ca} I would love to hear from you! Also, if you have been featured please grab one of my buttons for your blog!
Also, welcome, Christine and Kerri Creech! You two are my newest followers!
My site is now under construction. Later this week, I'm going to show you a few banners and you can tell me your favourite. There are tons of ideas for blog banners, but I really want to incorporate some of my own photography into this next one. Right now, I changed my banner to purple letters, so there really isn't anything exciting about the banner.
I put three polls at the top of the side bar. I would love if you took a few minutes to answer them! It would give me some ideas of what my readers like.
So, pardon the dust and paint chips and I'll be back with Terrific Thrifty Thursday later!
Sorry it's a day late! These posts are good for anyone who wants to share a favourite thing, but doesn't want to devote whole posts to one thing. I was inspired by Love Elycia to do these "5 Fave" posts.
Don't yellow flats scream, "Hello, spring!"? With a black dress (with a full skirt) and yellow shoes I think you have a lovely outfit! I think they add "bang" to any outfit.
I'm not a big giveaway person. I have only ever entered a few giveaways on blogs. I don't enter every giveaway in sight, I only enter for stuff I am really intrested in. Here is one I was intrested in:
Sealed with a Kiss is hosting a giveaway for a $5 giftcard to her shop (a lot of her stuff is really cheap)! Enter HERE. Ends today.
My blog posts have been a little boring recently. I have some posts coming that are pretty cool and are things that I should have shared a while ago.
Also, I have been working on a new blog design because fall is almost over and it's time for a change. So, stay tuned for some fun posts and please pardon the mess!
Have a lovely rest of your weekend!
-Ponytails
P.S. Today is the last day to enter the giveaway at Sew Can Do to win a $50 giftcard for fold over elastic (FOE)! Learn more HERE! I had never heard of FOE until Sew Can Do posted about the giveaway and did multiple tutorials using it!
It's the last chance to vote for The Homeschool Blog Awards! If you like my blog, would you please vote for me in the "Best Teen Blog" category? Also, my Mom's blog, Dewey's Treehouse was nominated for "Best Homeschooling Methods Blog" and Paige from Simply Handmade by Paige was nominated (by me) for "Best Crafts, Plans, and Projects", so could you vote for them, too? . I was also nominated for "Best Crafts, Plans, and Projects", so maybe you could vote for me in "Best Teen Blog" and Paige in "Best Crafts, Plans and Projects"!
It's Terrific Thrifty Thursday! TTT is when I feature DIYs and projects from other blogs from around blogtown. Here goes the 32nd edition of Terrific Thrifty Thursday!
Made by Lex shares a tie-dye scarf which I think is fabulous! I ♥ the fringe. Check out the blog, it's awesome!

One more thing... I have some new followers (I did notice some of you a little while ago) and I just wanted to actually say 'Welcome'! So, welcome, Felicity, Isabella, and Zoe! Thanks for reading. Thanks to anyone who has commented, follows, or reads this blog!
Also, commenting has gotten easier! (hint, hint) There is NO typing in letters or words to send your comments, I'm just moderating them now instead.
I like reading other people's outfit posts, so that may have been why I started my own a few weeks ago! Some of you may have noticed that my outfits seem a little casual for Church. Well, our Church isn't as dressy as some, but I want to put together some skirt outfits, so maybe that will be for next week... Again, please feel free to suggest combos, ideas, or something else new I should try for a future *Outfit of the Day*!
Here is what I wore on Sunday 14th, 2010 to Church and all day:
Okay, here are the details...
Cardi: Old Navy (bought with some lawn cutting money I made this summer working for my Grandpa!)
T-shirt: Second hand
Pants: Old Navy (bought same day with lawn money)
Socks (maybe I shouldn't bother telling you): Local Grocery Store (?)
Shoes: Payless
I must tell you about the good deals I found at Old Navy... I went there during the Sweet Sixteen event where a lot of things were marked down to $16! I had tried on the cords there when they were $40 and thought that was high because they were not the best quality, but when the Sweet Sixteen event came I thought that was much better! So, $16 and regular was $39.50.
The sweater was regular $34.50 marked down to... $16! After tax on the cords and cardi (that's all I bought) it was $36.16 for a nice sweater and some nice pants! I used some lawn money from working for my Grandpa this summer. The recipt said I saved $42.00!!! Wa-hoo!
I want to make sure you know that I am not a *trendy label* type of girl. American Eagle and other stores like that have some nice clothing, but I think people shouldn't limit themselves to having t-shirts with the company's logo all over them. What I'm trying to say is, it's ok to have one top like the one I'm wearing, but some people need to see outside of the AE polo and Aeropostale hoodie. As my sister said once, "There is nothing unique about sheep clothes (and I'm not talking about 100% wool fashions)." If you want to know why I'm wearing one, here's why...
This summer at my Church, a lady walked up to me and asked me if I wanted a t-shirt that didn't fit her daughter that she didn't really wear. I don't know how to say no when people say, "Would you like this?" and are hoping to get rid of it. I said, "Sure." and that was that. I must say, the actual shirt is a comfortable fit and the colour is nice, but I like to have my own *Ponytails* style. I wore this shirt because it went with the outfit.

It's Tuesday, but I just didn't get it out yesterday, sorry! These "5 Fave" posts are good for anyone who wants to share a few favourite things, but doesn't want to make whole posts devoted to those things. I was inspired by ♥Elycia to do these "5 Fave" posts. So, here are some things I love right now...
Ahhh, Reese's! Do you agree? I got some on Halloween. Okay, at first I thought that bottle was nail polish, but it's Reese's cologne. Either way, isn't that strange? ;)
Welcome to the 31st Terrific Thrifty Thursday! As promised, this one is all about shoes. I'll be featuring shoe projects from other people's wonderful blogs for you to browse through! Oh, and some of these projects may be from a little while ago, but you know, I just have to share them!
These are just about the most adorable, sweetest, cutest little shoes! I think I'll have to make some for a baby soon. It's a PDF, so you have to open it up from the post.
Do you have an idea for a Terrific Thrifty Thursday? Then you can submit an easy cooking, frugal, accessory, clothing, tip, and/or craft related project to: mypassionsforfashions (at) yahoo (dot) ca I would love to hear from you! Also, if you have been featured please grab one of my buttons for your blog!
I like reading other people's "What I Wore" posts, so that might have triggered me starting my own a few weeks ago. I am homeschooled and most days I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl. Well, maybe a sweater, too. Sunday/Church is when I like to try new things. Also, please suggest combos and other suggestions I should try! I'll totally give them a shot if they are not that weird. ;)
Here's what I wore on Sunday, the 7th to Church and all day:
The scarf is sparkly, so that's where the title came from! ;)

I was nominated in both the "Best Teen Blog" and the "Best Crafts, Plans, & Projects Blog" categories in the Homeschool Blog Awards at The Homeschool Post! Basically, each year The Homeschool Post has Homeschool Blog Awards for Moms and Dads who homeschool and for the kids being homeschooled. Since I'm homeschooled, I was allowed to be nominated and now you can vote for your favourites!
You can vote for me in "Best Teen Blog" or/and "Best Crafts, Plans, and Projects" if you like! If I'm not your favourite homeschooled teen blogger, that's ok. It's your choice, but I would really appreciate it! Also, if you like my Mom's blog, Dewey's Treehouse she was nominated in "Best Homeschooling Methods Blog". Also note that I nominated Simply Handmade by Paige for "Best Crafts, Plans, and Projects", so you could nomintate her for that and me for teen! ;)
I was so inspired by ♥Elycia's blog that I decided to do my own "5 Fave" posts! Mine will be on Monday instead of Friday, though. This is a good idea for anyone who just wants to share random favourite things instead of doing whole posts devoted to one thing! So, here are some things I like right now...
1. My bright blue nails from last week:
I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blue Me Away (as seen here). I actually stripped that down today and did some orange and blue nails. They reminds me a bit a of Dr. Suess!
Wow, this is the 30th Terrific Thrifty Thursday! (sorry it's late!) Next week's TTT will be all about shoes, so if you have any favourite shoes, shoe refashions, or other shoe related things I will try and get it into the 31st TTT. Now on to featuring some great projects...
Frist from Cut Out and Keep's user, Maribug. She made an off the shoulder peasant blouse out of a men's dress shirt! Wouldn't this be fun for summer? I don't think I would look good in this, but I'm sure some people would!

This should have been out on Wednesday, sorry about that! I love reading other people's outfit posts, so that might have triggered me starting my own. I am homeschooled and most days I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl. On Sunday/Church is when I have a lot of fun with my outfits and maybe try something new. Recently, I have been getting back into wearing scarves. I probably wore a scarf almost everyday this week!
This is what I wore to Church, Sunday the 31st:
Okay, here are the details...
Sweater: The Children's Place
This is one of my favourites. When I turned 12 (over a year ago, wow!) , my older sister treated me to a mall trip for a present. She actually got the t-shirt for me, too. We had time to stop in one more store and my sister said, "Let's check out The Children's Place.". I never thought I would actually find something in there!
T-shirt: Bluenotes
Jeans: Old Navy
Gucci Scarf: Dollar Store
Shoes: Payless:
Socks: Local grocery store ;)
Tip: If you choose to wear all blue, try using all different shades of it. You can try adding different coloured shoes to give it more intrest. Have fun!

Okay, I'm sorry this took until Tuesday to get out. I know it should have been out last Thursday, but I was busy and you know how it is when you forget and then you say, "I'll do it later.". Sorry about that!
So, how was your Halloween? Did you go out? If you don't celebrate, what did you do that night? I don't like the scary parts of Halloween with the vampires, witches, ghouls, ghosts, haunted, creepy, freaky part of it. In fact, I would be happy just parading around in costumes. The candy isn't all that important. Anyway, on to featuring some projects from around Bloggy Town!
And from Monkey See Videos on Youtube. She is making a duct tape purse in THIS video. A lot of people in the comments are saying stuff like, "Ghetto much?", "That's useless.", "That is sooooooo hobo!". Why would they be saying that? I think duct tape crafts are creative and for sure you have to have patience! Click on more videos in the sidebar for wallets, belts, roses, flip-flops, and more! (go there for the video, sorry the embedding isn't allowed on that video)
